on grabbing the wrong ball

 photo taken from here

the age-old maxim "defense wins championships" has been proven time and again in the game of basketball. the best way to win a game besides scoring the most points is holding your own fort against an opponent's offense to make opportunities to score.

i personally like the "get that ball" chant of the ateneo crowd because it encapsulates the essence of a good defensive stand. but how about those instances when defending players grab the wrong "ball"?

just this afternoon, asi taulava was the latest victim of this nut-grabbing/punching phenomenon.

well, some guy named mark yee did it last sunday in game 1 of the pba governor's cup finals. but i'd like to focus on anthony grundy's reaction to the "tight defense." satisfying enough?

but i like carlo gomez's smirk after he "defended" nico salva. someone just got served.

in any case, no one wants to be on the side of those "violated." not unless...
